Simple is alright, but boring is not.

For example, a Link outfit is simple. You've got a tunic, leggings, boots, gloves, and a hat. It is still a good costume. Yagami Light is not a good cosplay. It is boring.

Alright, so for link you have a tunic, leggings, boots, gloves, a hat, a sword, a shield and optional elements include: hookshot, quiver with arrows, a bow.

Alright so exactly how would get, the tunic, the leggings, the hat, the sword and the shield.

For walter I would need:
-White Dress Shirt
-Black Vest
-Red Tie
-Black Trousers
-Black Fingerless Gloves
-Retractable Wire

If you don't count the sword and shield, which you did not. Walter has more components to his costume then link does.

if we were to make a link costume he wouldnt have every weapon/item sword and shield maybe. he can just say hes like the real link and is hiding them in an unknown, and well hidden, place on his person.
(i think link has a pocket that goes to a small other dimention. thats where everything is....)

and i mean twilight link, the complex one. not the little 5 pixal link. you dont evan know exactly what hes weaing....

Link's costume may be less complex, but it has a more unique product. You could get cosmetic surgery for your cos-play, it wouldn't matter if it is a boring cos-play.

i know. but lots of characters wear boring stuff (im not saying ben choise dose) but when you cosplay its not how you look, its for who your being. look at Kiki. shes awsome but her clothes are less thst exiting. she evan says so.

i do understand what you saying tho, characters that dress "normally" have the potential to be boring, it just makes it harder to show people who you are. but it is possable and the the "boring" dressed characters can still be good cosplays.
